The Slit Jockey co-founder readies the Smoked Salt EP.

Philadelphia’s Dev79 has been one of the biggest proponents of grime in the US for years, and his vision for the sound is on full display in his forthcoming Smoked Salt EP, from the moody title track to the twisted ‘Gash Out’ to the anthemic ‘No Dance Routine’.

The latter features grime veteran Dread MC — stream it below. Smoked Salt is due out on November 20 via Lucky Beard Rec (available to pre-order on iTunes), with an interactive app version of the title track that will allow listeners to remix the track as they move around a virtual world.
