Just in time for the holidays, here’s some coal.

Black Sand is the collaborative project of Italian producers Max Durante and DJ Datch who generate some indulgently bad vibes on their excellent new EP. Over four tracks, Desert Island mixes grim atmosphere with a lean, endlessly rising tension. The first side is all seduction though, setting you up for the hair-pulling build of ‘Dead Sea’ and the final, extremely well-earned, climax of ‘High Tide’.
