Bubbles is not currently in production, but we sure hope it will be.

For 10 years now, the Blacklist survey looks at the un-produced screenplays floating around Hollywood and releases a list of the “most liked”, as they put it. With the release of the 2015 list today, a surprising script has reached the top.

Bubbles is a biopic about Michael Jackson’s pet chimpanzee, narrated by the animal, about his life within the pop star’s innermost circle. If anyone expected a talking Bubbles biopic to precede one about the pop star, color us surprised. The Blacklist is a curious survey because it doesn’t denote quality or that the film will even be made. The list has drawn attention to future hits such as Argo, The King’s Speech, and Juno, but also major disasters including this year’s big flop, Pan. Still, good or bad, there’s not a scenario in which we wouldn’t want to see a movie about Michael Jackson’s pet monkey (did we mention the monkey talks?). his life within The King of Pop’s inner circle through the scandals that later rocked Jackson’s life and eventually
led to Bubbles’ release.
