Valentina Tereshkova provides the inspiration and name for the composer’s new work.

Swedish experimentalist (and Elektronmusikstudion studio assistant) Mats Erlandsson will release a new album titled Valentina Tereshkova on Posh Isolation, the label co-run by noise artist and Lust For Youth member Loke Rahbek. The title comes from the Russian cosmonaut of the same name who became the first woman to fly in space on June 16, 1963. Erlandsson’s album clearly takes an inspiration from that cosmic setting over its droning, isolating soundscapes.
