Though he never appeared in the original series, David Bowie remains a Twin Peaks icon for his role in the film prequel Fire Walk With Me.

David Bowie was scheduled to reprise his role as Agent Phillip Jeffries in the reboot to Twin Peaks, according to series actor Harry Goaz. The plans were changed after Bowie’s death said Goaz, who plays Deputy Andy Brennan, in an interview with The Dallas Morning News.

He wouldn’t have been the only musician either — Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor, Sky Ferreira and Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder and Sky Ferreira and more are set to make appearances as well.

Though he only has a brief appearance in the film, the character Agent Jeffries is spoken of frequently and remains a puzzling figure. In true Lynch fashion, Bowie’s appearance doesn’t exactly answer any more questions, but leaves a powerful impression. Watch it and look for Twin Peaks in 2017.
