Funny little man.

Richard D. James, aka Aphex Twin, has a reputation to uphold. If he did things exactly the same as everyone else, he just wouldn’t be Aphex Twin, would he?

Now, in the run-up to the eagerly-anticipated new EP Cheetah, James has shared a his first video for 17 years (since the incredible Chris Cunningham-directed ‘Windowlicker’ promo). It’s for ‘CIRKLON3 [ Колхозная mix ]’ and was directed by one Ryan Wyer, aged 12, of Rush, County Dublin.

James reportedly discovered Wyer’s work after checking out his YouTube gaming channel epic1:40d Gaming, where he posts funny videos, gaming commentary and, errr, Aphex Twin reviews. Turns out he’s a massive fan of the Smojphace EP – someone had to be, I guess.

Watch the video for ‘CIRKLON3 [ Колхозная mix ]’ below. Cheetah will be released on Warp Records on July 8.
