A big year for the 80s synth wizards.

If you’ve been hooked on Netflix’s sci-fi horror series Stranger Things, you’ve probably noticed its period-perfect ’80s synth score. It comes from composers Kyle Dixon & Michael Stein who also make up half of Austin band S U R V I V E. Now, as Stranger Things laps up accolades, the group have picked the perfect time to announce a new album.

S U R V I V E will release RR7349 this September on Relapse Records. It makes sense as its the metal label is also home of Zombi, one of the pioneers of this Fulci and Carpenter-inspired sound. The band will also release the album on cassette through their label Holodeck under the name HD037.

Whatever you want to call it, the eerie first single ‘A.H.B.’ will be perfect for anyone who already burned through Stranger Things and is craving more retro-synth majesty.

Listen to it below and grab RR7349 or HD037 September 30.
