The iconic experimental thriller comes to vinyl for the first time ever.

Run Lola Run is known for many things — its real-time pacing, its butterfly effect conceit, Franka Potente’s career defining turn as Lola — but none of it would fit together without the trance inducing electronic soundtrack. Now Tom Tykwer (who directed the film), Johnny Klimek and Reinhold Heil’s iconic score will be released on vinyl for the first time.

Faced with the impossible task of acquiring 100,000 Deutsche Marks in 20 minutes in order to save her boyfriend’s life, Run Lola Run‘s hero rushes through three wildly different outcomes, each set off by small variations in pattern (waiting for a car to go by, avoiding an aggressive dog). Much like the film’s narrative structure, the soundtrack examines repetition and variation with pounding trance, techno and the occasional Charles Ives interpolation. It became one of the first films to show the power of scoring with modern electronic music, but more importantly, it remains a classic.

The pressing is out November 4 via Bella Union on cherry red vinyl in honor of the hero’s red hair. Pre-order it here and revisit the film’s iconic ‘Running One’.
