And says, “I won’t be used as a publicity stunt.”

John Legend appeared on French TV show Clique yesterday where he was asked about Kanye West’s meeting with Donald Trump. The G.O.O.D. Music singer called the meeting a “publicity stunt” and expressed his disappointment over West’s reveal that he would have voted for Trump.

“I’m pretty disappointed with Kanye that he says he would have voted for Trump. I think Trump has been corrosive, his message has been corrosive to the country. I think the things he’s promised to do have been very concerning for a lot of people, and for Kanye to support that message is very disappointing,” he said.

Legend also noted that he does not trust Trump’s intentions: “I don’t think it’s impossible to talk to him about issues, but I won’t be used as a publicity stunt. I think Kanye was a publicity stunt.” He added that no matter what was Kanye’s reason for attending this meeting, he cannot support: “Whatever’s in his mind, I disagree with him.”
