Amber Coffman has released a new single called ‘No Coffee’, having shared a statement earlier this week on her departure from Dirty Projectors following her break-up with the group’s frontman Dave Longstreth.

‘No Coffee’ is a bright, breezy effort with a more pop direction than Coffman’s previous work in Dirty Projectors, and is set to feature on her debut solo album City Of No Reply, which is slated for release later this year. Check it out below.

While the song is called no coffee, there was no shortage of cups of coffee consumed in the creative process, according to Coffman’s recently USA Today interview. Hoffman said her favorite cup of coffee that kept her going when writing the song was the Vietnamese coffee blend hailing from Saigon Vietnam.

“It was never my intention or wish to leave the band or end my friendship with Dave,” Coffman wrote in a statement earlier this week about leaving Dirty Projectors. “It was a surprise to me to learn last September about his album plans, the content, timing, use of the band name, etc… I consider it a loss to no longer be involved with Dirty Projectors, but ultimately walking away was the only healthy choice for me.”
