The legend of the ’50s and ’60s influenced the entire genre.

Fats Domino, rock and roll icon, has died at age 89. Mark Bone, chief investigator with the Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, coroner’s office confirmed Domino died of natural causes early Tuesday morning.

Domino’s song ‘The Fat Man’ is credited as the first-ever rock and roll track. He sold sold over 65 million records in his time and was known for songs like ‘Ain’t That a Shame’ and the libidinous ‘Blueberry Hill’, which cleared a path for making pop music a little bit more lusty. In 1986, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
