Danish soul duo Quadron announce sophomore album, Avalanche

The group’s self-titled debut album was released in Denmark back in 2009.

Quadron made waves with the retro-soul production of Robin Hannibal and the angelic vocals of Coco O., garnering co-signs from Adele, Mark Ronson, James Murphy, Jay-Z, and more. On June 4, the duo will release their long-awaited sophomore album, Avalanche. Lead single ‘Hey Love’ takes the band in a poppier, roots rock direction; watch the video below.

In an interview with FACT last year, Coco explained what to expect from the album: “I think the sound has gotten a little bit more mature. The songs on the first album were the first ones that we’d ever done together and the first songs that I’d ever done in my life. So I think that now it’s just growing as we’re growing and I think that there’s more arrangements on the new stuff. It’s more mid-tempo. It’s good to dance to. It’s better, hopefully.”

Since the last album, the singer has kept busy, appearing on Tyler, the Creator’s Wolf and the forthcoming soundtrack for The Great Gatsby. [via Potholes In My Blog]
