Christmas comes early for noise fans.

After entertaining us with their singles series, Adult Swim have released their latest compilation, a 16-track of noise music’s best.

Simply titled NOISE, the compilation kicks off with a new track from noise-rap trio clipping. before moving into new offerings from a vast range of artists that fall under the label of noise. There are modernist producers such as Dreamcrusher and Arca, chilling vocal performances from Pharmakon and Tanya Tagaq, moments of near-beauty by Noveller and Prurient, as well as a pair of 18-minute epics from noise institutions Merzbow and Wolf Eyes.

The impressive range and cohesion of NOISE is attributable to its curation by Adult Swim writer/producer Laura Sterritt who described her approach by viewing noise “not only as the common thread, but as a sub-genre within which all lines intersect.”
