The new season kicked off this weekend.

Stranger Things composers Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein of S U R V I V E have broken down the hit show’s theme music for the Song Exploder podcast.

Dixon and Stein detail the analog synths that were used for the music, which include a Prophet V, Roland SH-2 and Mellotron. They also discuss using filters to achieve their sound. Listen to the episode below.

The pair picked up the Emmy for Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music at this year’s awards.
