The Saint Etienne deluxe reissue programme continues with expanded and re-mastered versions of the albums So Tough and Sound of Water due out on August 31.

Both albums will be re-released as Deluxe Editions by Heavenly/Universal, each containing the original album, an extra disc of session tracks and B-sides and extensive sleeve-notes.

So Tough was the London group’s second album, and was first released back in 1993, reaching no.7 in the UK charts; the memorable cover pic is of the band’s singer Sarah Cracknell aged 6. Sound of Water came considerably later, in 2003, and was released through Mantra and Sub Pop in the US. Undoubtedly the band’s most experimental release, it features arrangements from Sean O’Hagan (Stereolab, High Llamas) and Robert Lippok’s post-rock troupe To Rococo Rot. 

As if that’s not enough, you can currently order a special edition of the band’s classic 1991 debut album Foxbase Alpha replete with custom-made Foxbase Alpha Subbuteo figure, 2xCD deluxe version of the album, poster and badge set. Yours for £40.
