Kode 9’s Hyperdub label haven’t put on a club night in London since 2001. Come November 21, they’ll end that barren spell, and what a line-up to return with.

Kode 9 [abpve], head of the label and both a pioneer and tastemaker in dubstep and beyond, will be playing two sets: one a live performance with frequent collaborator MC Spaceape, the other a three hour DJ set. Kode’s at his best when he gets the chance to spread out: he played a stunning all-night set at Rinse FM’s clubnight FWD>> this May, and his two hour set covering for Zomby at the same rave earlier in the year was just as good.

Other Hyperdub soldiers performing on the night include King Midas Sound, the collaboration between Kevin ‘The Bug’ Martin and MC Roger Robinson, a collaborator with Roots Manuva and more. Cooly G, Ikonika, LD and LV will all DJ, while future garage duo Darkstar will be performing one of their first live sets. Their recent output (check ‘Videotape’ from Mary Anne Hobbs’ Wild Angels compilation and ‘Aidy’s Girl…’ from Hyperdub’s forthcoming 5 comp) has been exemplary, so we can’t wait to see what they bring to the live setting. Oh, and there’s also the small matter of Mala in Room 2, whose singles on his own DMZ output are legendary amongst dubstep fans and DJs.

It all takes place at Corsica Studios, promoted by We Fear Silence. It’s not the only cracking rave WFS have lined up for Winter either: on October 2, 2652 will be celebrating the launch of his new full-length Unbalance, with a little help from some of the best friends a producer could have: Ostgut-Ton’s frequently brilliant Shed, Tectonic label boss Pinch, Werk Discs’ Actress, Ikonika, Brackles, Subeena, Equinox, DJ Planet Mu and Kode 9 again.
