Berlin-based DJ/producer Dixon has revealed details of several projects that he and his Innervisions label plan to bring to fruition in the coming months.
Speaking to secretsundaze ahead of his DJ set for them this Sunday, September 27, Dixon revealed that A Critical Mass – the Innervisions live incarnation that features Ame, Henrik Schwarz and Dixon himself – will follow in the footsteps of Jeff Mills, Moritz Von Oswald and Ricardo Villalobos in performing a live original soundtrack to a film by German director Fritz Lang (he of Metropolis fame):
"We are scoring a movie. It’s a classic movie from the early 20/30s from Fritz Lang and we will perform the score live at the Timewarp [festival in Mannheim] 2010."
"Besides my new mix CD [Temporary Secretary] that will come out mid-October we are planning to release a book in late-November," he continues. "It is the English translation of the book Lost & Sound – Berlin, Techno, Easyjetrave by Tobias Rapp that was released in 2009 in German. Basically it’s a book about the crazy Berlin club situation of the last 10 years. And after our 6 month release break we are actually back on fire now and there will be a couple of EPs over the next month."
Dixon also added that he will release his debut artist EP in 2010. To win a copy of Temporary Secretary and tickets to hear him play at secretsundaze this weekend, visit our competitions page.
