Paisley underground revivalists Hatcham Social have drafted in friends and fans – some famous – to provide the artwork for their new single.

There will only be a 100 10" vinyl copies of ‘Sidewalk’ made, and they’ll be released on November 2 by Fierce Panda. As well as the title track, which is taken from the band’s You Dig The Tunnel, I’ll Hide The Soil LP, the 10" features the tracks ‘Wild Creatures’, ‘Hypnotised Terrible Eyes’, ‘King Kong’ and ‘Surfin’ Safari’. The digital version of the single also includes a remix of ‘Sidewalk’ by The Horrors’ Tom Furse.

Each of the 100 copies will be designed by a different artist – and according to Fierce Panda, these artists includes members of Hatcham Social, members of other bands like The Maccabees, Good Shoes, The Charlatans and The Horrors, and Hatcham fans. What you get landed with is pot luck; we’ve not seen any of the designs as yet. The records will be delivered to London’s Rough Trade and Pure Groove stores on the morning of November 2.

Shortly before then, on Saturday 31 October, the band headline their very own ‘Halloween Prom’ at 229 Portland St, Lonon, with support from Electricity In Our Homes, Sunderbands and a bunch of other young hopefuls we haven’t really heard of (yet). More info here.
