So you’ve heard the previews of the new Madvillain album, right?

Well yesterday evening, Stones Throw revealed more information. Like Madvillainy, the debut LP from the pairing of Madlib and MF Doom, the album will be entirely produced by Madlib, but this time will feature involvement from Dave Sitek. Mos Def will also feature at some point.

As stated in the last article, the first Madvillain albumis one of the great underground hip-hop CDs of our time, and come theinevitable End of Decade lists soon to flood FACT’s pages, youshouldn’t be surprised to see it feature. There’s been talk about afollow-up for years, but so far all we’ve got is a remix collection,titled Madvillain 2, and a box-set. But now it looks like there finally will be a follow-up, which is officially Big News. And Good Big News, at that.
