Fancy some fresh gear from Seiji? Of course you do.

For those who don’t know, Seiji is one of the treasures of UK dance music. Since ’96 he’s been pushing a bashy sound with swung grooves and broken percussion, proving a huge influence on broken beat, UK funky and – consciously or not – contemporary producers like 2562, Altered Natives and Shortstuff. And he’s still doing his thing.

He’s doing it so well, in fact, that we’ve got him playing our huge FACT party at Cable on June 4 (presented by We Fear Silence). Also on the bill that night is the UK live debut from Scuba, a 90 minute set by Digital Mystikz’ Mala, MMM/Berghain’s Fiedel, Altered Natives, Spatial, Deep Teknologi, Subeena, and a Night Slugs takeover in Room 2 with Chicago’s DJ Rashad, Bok Bok and L-Vis 1990, Lil Silva, Jam City and Girl Unit.

That’s quite big really, isn’t it? You can get advance tickets here, or risk paying more on the door. As for today’s Daily Download, we’ve got Seiji’s re-rub of ‘Chekere Son’, from the new Havana Cultura remix compilation on Gilles Peterson’s Brownswood label, also featuring MJ Cole, 4hero and more.
