Nite Jewel is soon to release a new EP, Am I Real?, through Gloriette Records.

The six-track affair will be available as a 12″ on August 16 and download on July 20; the title track is already available to buy digitally here. According to sales notes it finds Nite Jewel – real name Ramona Gonzales – delivering “a soulful, DIY take on ’80s new romantic grooves”.

Gonzales has also been working on new music with fellow LA-dweller Dam-Funk, though as far as we know none of that material appears on Am I Real?. According to XLR8R, the line-up for Nite Jewel’s band has changed slightly, with Gonzales’ husband Cole M. Greif-Neill – who has played extensively with Ariel Pink – replacing Emily Jane on keyboards.
