This week on FACT we offered an exclusive stream of Mount Kimbie’s entire debut album, Crooks & Lovers, bid a fond farewell reggae star Sugar Minott and premiered the video for Skream’s new single.
In news, we struggled to keep up with the sheer volume of noteworthy releases tumbling our way: new albums from Laetitia Sadier, Bryan Ferry, Justin Broadrick, K-X-P and Gang of Four, reissues and compilations from Zola Jesus, Harry Thumann, David Bowie, Savage Republic, E.M.A.K. and Arab Strap. Baths, Uffie, Peverelist, Jammer and The Black Dog were among those put through their paces in reviews.
Markus Popp AKA Oval provided us with ample food for thought in an in-depth interview, and we also profiled the up-and-coming, King Midas Sound-affiliated Dokkebi-Q. FACT mixes came from Rebolledo of Kompakt/Comeme and Southend art-rockers These New Puritans, the latter sculpting a parallel universe where South Rakkas Crew rub shoulders with Benjamin Britten.
