Stop Making Sense takes place in Petrčane on the stunning Adriatic coast of Croatia, September 3-5. Londoners can get a taste of what to expect from the festival this Saturday 7 August, as Cable plays host to a Stop Making Sense launch party starring Juan Atkins.

Atkins (pictured) should require a little introduction – a key architect of Detroit techno, his contribution to the evolution of electronic music is unquantifiably huge, and we were recently pleased to learn that he’s releasing a new EP with Model 500 through R&S this year. On Saturday Atkins headlines the Cable’s Room 1, co-hosted by Need2Soul and Sud Electronic, with additional turns from Tama Sumo (of Panoramabar fame) and Keith Worthy, whose dark, dramatic take on the Detroit sound has of late marked him out as one of the city’s most intriguing exports. Sud’s ever-reliable Lakuti brings up the rear.

Room 2 is hosted by BumBumBox, Matias Aguayo‘s raucous party collective, in partnership with Allez-Allez. Aguayo himself will be on hand to spin his favourite techno, disco and itchy electro-funk jams; the Allez-Allez DJs – including Sam Willis of Kompakt duo Walls – provide discerning support.
