Following last week’s murky selection, our latest FACT playlist is a sunnier affair. Well, slightly.

There’s zinging dancefloor gear in there from juke man DJ Elmoe, dubstepper Subeena and Caribou (remixed by Motor City Drum Ensemble), and, in the form of The Soft Boys’ ‘Kingdom Love’, one of the best songs from one of the best rock ‘n roll albums of all time (Underwater Moonlight, soon to be reissued). New talent is repped in the chilly electro-pop of Frank (Just Frank) and washed-out electronics of Holy Other, both still available as free downloads elsewhere on the FACT site.

Demdike Stare and James Blake both have new releases out of this week, prompting us to dig out classics from their respective back catalogues, and we celebrate the imminent, long-awaited UK release of Forest Swords’ Dagger Paths – quite possibly the album of the year – by flagging up one of its highlights, ‘Hoylake Mist’. Last but not least, Detroit boy Andres – the Slum Villager who has collaborated with both Moodymann and J Dilla – weighs in with ‘Sing About It’.
