Rizla Re-Crafted is a new remix competition intended to give bedroom producers the chance to shine by working their magic on an exclusive track by Mystery Jets.

Over at rizlarecrafted.co.uk you can download the component parts of the track, upload your remix and listen to other entries. A panel of judges, including the Mystery Jets, will pick the ultimate winner of the contest.

The winner will not only have their talents showcased to a huge audience (Rizla will send the track to its extensive network of label and DJ contacts across the world), they’all also be presented with a tasty Hercules DJ Console RMX controller.

Rizla will also be heading out on tour in November and December, presenting a series of ‘Masterclass’ workshops in Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester and Sheffield, all hosted by UK garage maven MJ Cole. The focus will be on the art of the remix, and will include live demonstrations, industry tips and more.

The next MJ Cole-helmed Rizla Re-Crafted workshop takes place on Friday 12 November, 4pm-6pm, at the Hare and Hounds in Kings Heath, Birmingham. Later that evening at Birrmingham’s Rainbow Warehouse, MJ will DJ along with Simian Mobile Disco, Friendly Fires, Mystery Jets and Le Corps Mince De Francoise. More information here.
