If you’re looking for mirth and merriment on New Year’s Eve – and who on earth isn’t? – you could do a lot worse than spend it with Sam & The Womp.

The curiously named band – who have become festival favourites of late with appearances at Bestival, Big Chill and Secret Garden Party – are hosting an NYE hat party at Camino in Kings Cross, London. The seven-piece deal in party music pure and simple, and they’ll be joined by like minds Aaron Audio (Bang Bang Tape Records) and Señor Miguan (Viva La Revolucion!) playing electro, dubstep, Latin, boogaloo, reggaeton, samba, hip-hop, 2-step and Balkan beats. plus from DJ Cous Cous, Bobby Gandolf and Wormfood bringing the dancehall, garage, UK funky and African-influenced bass music of all sorts.

As we mentioned, this is a hat party, and prizes will be awarded for the best headgear on display. Tickets are £20 and can be obtained here; the night runs 9pm-4am and those who turn up before 10pm will receive a £5 drinks voucher.
