Amanda Brown’s Not Not Fun – one of FACT’s labels of 2010 and home to Ensemble Economique, Dylan Ettinger and Brown’s own LA Vampires project – has two new albums out soon.

The first is Ghost With Chains, the debut vinyl full-length by Minneapolis outfit Daughters Of The Sun, who the label describe as a “slow-burn badlands drone/groove trio [with] a real ‘spirit in the sky'” vibe. Hardly the most encouraging description, granted, but the NNF seal of approval is not to be sniffed at – check out the band’s myspace to hear more.

The second is 936, a new vinyl and CD album from Peaking Lights, a husband-wife duo operating out of Wisconsin. The duo coax trippy rhythms out of consumer electronics and household scrap, making for something NNF term “tranced post-reggae hypno-pop”. Both albums are expected to drop in February (Ghosts With Chains is already available to buy direct from the label); you can catch Daughters Of The Sun performing as part of the Not Not Fun showcase at this year’s SXSW.
