Domino-signed synth-poppers Austra are kicking off the Beck’s Green Box Project.
According to Beck’s they’ve made “an epic, pulsating choral score entitled ‘Subharmony’ that shapes surreal and abstract bubbles into a sonic sculpture unlike anything else the band have ever visually created”, inspired by video games and the sea.
“I’ve always been drawn to the mystery of the sea and the unknown of the underwater world,” says Katie Stelmanis (pictured), the band’s frontwoman. “We watched a movie about diving and dolphins and it had a lot of underwater scenes that we were just totally beautiful.”
If you’re curious to see what they’ve come up with, you’ll find the results in Hoxton Square, London, and more information here.
