We’ve been enjoying this bit of insouciant house from unsigned Londoner Bob Villain.
True to its name, ‘Nostalgic Bump’ nudges along cheerfully, its loose-limbed groove punctuated with chord stabs that could’ve been lifted from a VHS ident – kind of reminiscent of the Workshop crew at their most soft-edged. The leisurely pace is matched by sun-dappled synth textures drifting in and out of focus over the top, serving as a cruel reminder that summer’s still a few months away.
More music in a similar vein – ‘Cognitive Echoes’ is particularly worth a look – can be found on Bob’s Soundcloud.
