There’s been a lot of chatter about James Ferraro’s recent sky-high-concept works. But there haven’t been many opportunities so far to hear the lo-fi auteur discuss his output in person.
The ever-resourceful Red Bull Music Academy have uploaded an enlightening ‘Fireside Chat’ interview with Ferraro onto their website. The musician offers an insight into his methodology, outlines the conceptual backbone for some of his tricksier works, and talks about his ambitions outside of music. The conversation is also interspersed with a selection of Ferraro cuts, ranging from his early work with The Skaters through to Bebetune$.
Ferraro’s most recent project was the free Bodyguard album. You can listen to the interview below, courtesy of the RBMA website.
