Bristol day festival Simple Things, as their name suggests, have a simple modus operandi: get as many brilliant acts in one place as possible.

Now heading into its second year, the bash – taking place this Sunday – has pulled together an excellent selection of artists for 2012. Squarepusher, set to return with a new LP in May, will be performing one of his mercurial live sets. Putting aside the fact that his diverse catalogue contains some of the most interesting electronic music of the last twenty years, the man is also a blisteringly talented bass player, making his performance something of a must-see. Glasgow’s ultra-glossy beatmaker Hudson Mohawke will also be appearing with a live AV show. Out of all of the LuckyMe breed, no-one is better at firing up a crowd than the man formerly known as DJ Itchy (although fellow Rustie, also on the bill, will no doubt be trying his darndest). Atmospheric one man band Forest Swords will also be making the trip from the Wirral, again with a live AV show.

Other highlights on the line-up include a DJ set from Caribou, plus live performances from Ghostpoet, Factory Floor, and Grimes. Also on the bill are Death In Vegas, Simian Mobile Disco, Nathan Fake, Jackmaster, Space Dimension Controller, Deadboy and Lone.

Simple Things takes place on May 6 at a range of venues across Bristol. Early bird tickets are currently available for £30; you can nab yourself a ticket and peruse the full line-up over at the Simple Things website.

FACT have two tickets to give away to Simple Things. Should you like to bag a ticket for you and a friend, send an email through to competitions@thevinylfactory.com, including the words ‘Simple Things’ and your name in the title field.
