Lunatic drum combo Foot Village plan to Make Memories on new release

Madcap drum ensemble Foot Village will return before the end of 2012 with their first album in three years.

Over the last half-decade, the L.A. outfit have pretty much nailed their oddball formula – namely, drums + manic bellowing + very little else = some of the most messiest, noisiest avant-rock around.

Having begun to garner attention with 2008’s rollicking Friendship Nation, the four-piece followed up with a pair of LPs (Fuck The Future II and Anti-Magic) in 2009. They’ve also been repped by Portishead, who recruited Foot Village to play at their wonderful ATP festival at Alexandra Palace in 2011. No one makes a racket like them, and they’ll be unleashing another percussive blitzkrieg before the year is out.

As Tiny Mix Tapes report, fifth LP Make Memories will arrive later this month. The album promises six new loud’n’lurid compositions. The NSFW cover art is available to view here (and is comparatively tame by Foot Village’s standards). A maniac trailer for the LP is available to watch below.

Make Memories is due on December 21 through Northern Spy.
