Kavinsky has been crafting soundtrack-ready electro for years, but he didn’t break through to mainstream audiences until finding a perfect fit: contributing ‘Nightcall’ to the soundtrack for Drive.

With that in mind, ‘Protovision’ pays tribute to his claim to fame. The lo-fi, Marcus Herring-directed video puts Kavinsky in the driver seat of a sports car on the run from a cop. It’s a simple adaptation for the soaring, electro instrumental that is the lead single off his 2013 LP Outrun.
