We Fear Silence recruit Boddika for 4th birthday celebration, announce February/March shows

Club promoters We Fear Silence have announced a run of shows over the next two months at London’s Cable.

As previously reported, James Ruskin’s Blueprint will take charge on February 16, inviting a host of techno figureheads along for an impressive evening’s entertainment. Dutch vanguardist Speedy J, Downwards boss Regis, Mute’s Daniel Miller and Blueprint cheque-signer James Ruskin are all on the bill.

Saturday February 23, meanwhile, will see grime crew (and talented bowlers) Butterz stopping by for their 3rd birthday celebrations. Purple prince Joker tops the bill, and will go back to back with Swindle. Funky deconstructionist Lil Silva and Hardrive boss/gremlin master Terror Danjah are both on the line-up, as are Butterz co-ordinators Elijah & Skilliam, Royal-T and Champion. Room 2 is on a more UK garage-orientated tip, with Sticky and Youngstar both bringing a veteran’s eye to proceedings. More birthday business follows on March 8, when d’n’b label Virus will recruit Ed Rush & Optical, Black Sun Empire, The Upbeats and more to celebrate their 15th anniversary.

The biggest night of the season, however, is We Fear Silence’s 4th Birthday show on March 23. Familiar face Boddika tops the bill, presenting a survey of hybrid house, techno and dubstep around the 130bpm mark. Rush Hour’s BNJMN will be showcasing his melody-led house music, and Klakson’s Dexter will also appear. Formidable club DJ Braiden, Roman Lindau, Spokes, Shooting Horses, and DLVRY are also on the bill.
