Like Civil Music’s young star Darling Farah, Russia’s Dimitry Liss has honed his craft in the UAE.

Liss isn’t exactly a bushy-tailed newcomer, having debuted on Balkan Connection South American back in 2009 with his The Woman Upstairs LP. He’s released on deep house imprint Sweetleaf and, more recently, dropped the ‘Into The Night’ 12″ on Portuguese imprint Piston Recordings.

Follow-up EP Everything’s Eventual has just appeared on Piston, and lead track ‘This Feeling’ is something of a keeper. It’s a wonderfully twitchy deep house track, marrying crisp drum programming with exuberant boogie bass (close your eyes, and you can imagine Huxley jamming with Krystal Klear). The rest of the EP, queasy Aaliyah rerub included, doesn’t quite match up (although the crawling Nasrawi ‘This Feeling’ edit is an interesting companion piece to the original). But ‘This Feeling’ ensures Liss is worth at least seven minutes of your time. [via Immersed Audio]
