One of the year’s most anticipated grime singles finally drops.
Gage has dropped in at just the right time. The south London-via-Bristol producer caught our ear during the Great Wardubs, erm, War of 2013 with his Tekken-sampling joyride ‘Yoshimitsu’, but it was his appearance on Logos’ FACT mix a month later that signalled a serious talent, with the bellicose ‘Telo’ stomping about like it owned the place.
Since then ‘Telo’ has become a staple in sets by Slackk, Brackles, Murlo, Bloom and co., and next week the track finally sees release courtesy of Bristol clubnight/label Crazylegs.
Ahead of that we’ve got the premiere of the B-side, ‘Shiftin’ – an equally boisterous, snotty-nosed bruiser of a tune fashioned from martial drums and vicious synth stabs. Check it out below.
‘Telo’/’Shiftin’ is out on 12″ and digitally on March 10 – nab it here.
