Western Massachusetts-based tape fetishist Matt Krefting returns with the melancholy Lymph Est.

The album follows last year’s excellent High Hopes, and is Krefting’s debut for Graham Lambkin’s influential Kye imprint, home of Helm, Call Back the Giants and more. It finds him exploring the same frazzled lo-fi textures as its predecessor, yet with a further degree of refinement, allowing the plethora of sounds to speak for themselves through the requisite wall of pleasing saturation and choppy edits.

The first track shared from the album is ‘Mania’ (which you can hear in full below), and is based around a cassette recording of piano, with creaking floorboards adding some kind of subtle percussion in the background. It’s absorbing, deeply affecting music, and you can head over to Penultimate Press to pre-order the LP now.
