The video is for Vulnicura track ‘Stonemilker’.

The video for Björk’s next single will be available to view on the Oculus Rift virtual reality device. Björk is no stranger to innovative technologies, having released her Biophilia album as an app in 2013. Last year, that app became the first to be added to MoMA’s permanent collection.

Speaking to Fast Company, the Icelandic singer spoke about this month’s MoMA retrospective, her decision to keep Vulnicura off Spotify and the upcoming film clip for her track ‘Stonemilker’. The video for ‘Stonemilker’ is directed by Björk’s frequent collaborator Andrew Thomas Huang, and has been shot for Oculus Rift.

When quizzed about the intersection between music and technology, Björk said, “It can’t just be working with the gadget for the sake of the gadget. But also it’s about budgets. You can do apps cheaply. Apps was kind of punk, actually. It was like starting a punk band again. Filming for Oculus Rift is not.”

No further details have been released regarding the video for ‘Stonemilker’. Björk’s MoMa retrospective begins on March 8. [via The Verge]
