A victory for common sense.

Coachella and Lollapalooza have become the latest US festivals to ban the use of selfie sticks, following similar action by Ultra Miami earlier this month.

As Brooklyn Vegan points out, the FAQ section on Lollapalooza’s site states that there should be no “GoPro attachments like sticks, selfie sticks & monopods.” Coachella’s official site also states that “Selfie sticks / Narcissists” are banned from attendance.

The devices – long sticks that attach to your phone or camera to let you take photos of yourself and others – have been the source of much frustration recently, for both health and safety reasons and the contravention of no photography policies. Earlier this year O2 Academy Brixton, London’s O2 Arena and Wembley Arena banned the devices from their venues for those reasons.

In case you’ve remained blissfully ignorant and are still none the wiser as to what a selfie stick does, Death Grips filmed their recent video with one of the devices – you can watch that below. [via NME]
