Baltimore maximalist Dan Deacon has created a video and interactive game for ‘Meme Generator’, the latest track from his Gliss Riffer album on Domino.

Directed by Monica Mirabile, the video sees four choreographers create four dances in a “liminal house”. “I gave no rules, just asked for a response derived from the choreographers own relationship to the ‘program’, the program being the familiar space of the house,” says Mirabile. “I’m most directly inspired by the choreography of the people that surround me, as we are all affected by a similar marketed reality. We all play the game.”

Expanding on that idea, Deacon – whose live shows are famously immersive and participatory – has released an interactive video game based on those four dances, which you can play on his website.

Meanwhile, he kicks off the UK leg of his European tour with a show at the Haunt in Brighton tonight (June 15) plus shows in London, Manchester, Glasgow and Dublin. Catch up with the ace multi-part animated video for his last single, ‘When I Was Done Dying’.
