Michigan artist breaks silence with new solo EP.

In the two years since his last album, No Better Time Than Now, Ann Arbor native Shigeto has toured extensively, joined a jazz quartet alongside veteran Dave Douglas and collaborated with local rappers, including Zlooper. All that’s been missing is more solo material.

Earlier this week, the multi-instrumentalist changed that with the lead track from a new EP entitled Intermission. The six-track release is due out on Ghostly International, his home since 2010, October 30 on vinyl and digital.

According to Shigeto the EP is a collection of songs that “point to the past, present, and future” and which should be considered more as a taste than a definitive statement, “like a halftime show of sorts.”

You can hear the bubbling title track ‘Pulse’ below as well as artwork and full tracklist. Pre-orders are available from The Ghostly Store.
