Macca soundtracks your Skype chats.

Skype’s animated emoji are already the best in the business, but the Microsoft-owned company wants to make them even better, recruiting Sir Paul McCartney to record music for a new set to celebrate Valentine’s Day.

The new “Love Mojis” include Sumo Cupid, Flirting Banana and Excited Octopus, each of which are accompanied by a guitar riff or synth jingle from the mind of McCartney to get us in the mood for the annual holiday of love.

It’s not the first time Microsoft has paid a big name to record jingles for its software – the classic Windows 95 start-up sound was famously composed by Brian Eno.

Cookies and similar technologies are used to improve your experience, to do things like:

Personalised Advertising

These technologies are used for things like:

We do this with social media, marketing, and analytics partners (who may have their own information they’ve collected). Saying no will not stop you from seeing our ads, but it may make them less relevant or more repetitive.
