The stripped-back performance included renditions of ‘No Surprises’ and ‘Street Spirit’.

Thom Yorke played an unannounced acoustic set at a garden party in his hometown of Oxford on Sunday (June 12).

No videos have surfaced as yet, but according to reddit user verylittlesound, the 30-minute set included versions of ‘Desert Island Disk’, ‘No Surprises’, ‘Street Spirit’, ‘Reckoner’, and ‘I Might Be Wrong’.

The redditor was alerted to the secret show by his dad, who texted him to tell him that “Tom York” was performing at the garden party.

It’s not yet clear if this was a one-off date for the Radiohead frontman or if more garden parties are planned.

Radiohead – who released their new album A Moon Shaped Pool last month – recently announced a worldwide event to take place June 17 in record stores. It will include “an exclusive day long audio stream from the band, competitions, instructional artworks and more.” It’s unclear yet what the stream will contain, but check the band’s site for participating locations.
