The singer responds to controversial feature complimenting her “killer tits” in strong-worded string of tweets.

Sky Ferreira has responded to a controversial LA Weekly article titled ‘Sky Ferreira’s Sex Appeal Is What Pop Music Needs Right Now’ in a series of tweets.

Hitting back at the sexist column – for which the publication was forced to apologise the following day – Ferreira explains that “95 percent of articles & interviews about me have had something offensive, false or (sometimes extremely) sexist.”

The Night Time, My Time artist says she “didn’t respond in the heat of the moment, because what I actually have to say is a lot more than a “response” or “rant” to some article.”

The feature in question was widely criticised online over the weekend for its comparison of Sky and Madonna’s “killer tits”. LA Weekly, when posting the piece on Twitter, wrote that “What Slash is to playing guitar, Sky Ferreira is to looking hot.”

Ferreira says that while she is obviously a lot more than her “sex appeal” or her “knockers”, she’s “not ashamed of either of those things either.”

The singer also used Twitter to distance herself from Terry Richardson, the celebrity photographer accused of multiple accounts of sexual assault and harassment over the years, who LA Weekly suggested she had previously defended. See the tweets below.
