Over 100 pieces from David Bowie’s celebrated furniture collection will be sold at an auction at Sotheby’s next month.

Bowie was a dedicated collector of the brightly coloured, postmodern work of Milan-based design collective Memphis group, led by Italian designer Ettore Sottsass. He acquired a number of pieces, including the Super Lamp by Martine Bedin and Sottsass’ Carlton bookcase, which you can see below.

Sotheby’s are set to auction off the full collection – with the lowest value piece priced at £60, while the bookcase could reportedly reach up to £7000.

The auction is taking place at Sotheby’s on New Bond Street in London on November 11 and will be accompanied by an exhibition from 1 to 10 November 2016, also being held at Sotheby’s.

This will be the third auction to feature Bowie’s collections at Sotheby’s since the late star’s death in January. The first two, which are also set for next month, will focus on his collection of contemporary art.
