“Floating is amazing. It’s like getting in a plane.”

Last month, Travis Scott fell down a massive hole onstage at Drake’s London O2 Arena show and the internet lost its shit.

Now in a new interview with British GQ Style, Scott has offered his own spin on the tumble, claiming “I didn’t fall, dude, I flew.”

Footage from the night shows the Texan rapper taking a slapstick dive down a fabric-covered pit that houses a giant light-up globe. But Scott believes that some kind of sorcery was in fact at play: “I was floating,” he told GQ. “I don’t fall. Shit, nothing happened. Floating is amazing. It’s like getting in a plane. I just flew, man,” while calling himself “a magician, like David Blaine.”

Whatever magical powers Scott may possess, the incident in question looked pretty painful. Remind yourself of it below.

Meanwhile, earlier today the Houston rapper and producer shared a new 14-minute short film on Apple Music, Birds in the Trap. Featuring music from Scott’s album Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight, the film was directed by Fleur Fortune who recently helmed the Avalanches’ ‘Frankie Sinatra’ video.
