Blond Ambition has reportedly been picked up by Universal Pictures.

Madonna has responded to news that a biopic focussing on her early years is in the works.

Blond Ambition is reportedly being helmed by Fifty Shades of Grey producer Michael De Luca and explores the trials and tribulations surrounding the release of Madonna’s self-titled 1983 debut.

However, the ‘Lucky Star’ artist hit out at plans for the film in an Instagram post last night, declaring: “Nobody knows what I know and what I have seen. Only I can tell my story.”

She adds: “Anyone else who tries is a charlatan and a fool Looking for instant gratification without doing the work. This is a disease in our society.”

Written by Elyse Hollander, Blond Ambition was voted the most popular unproduced screenplay in Hollywood on the 2016 Black List.
