Skream gets ready to think Outside the Box

Dubstep pioneer Skream will release his second album, Outside the Box, through Tempa on July 26.

With long-time dubplate ‘Listening to the Records on my Wall’ as the lead single, Outside the Box features indie rap favourite Murs (on ‘8-bit Baby’) and La Roux, who Skream famously tackled on the crossover hit ‘In for the Kill (Skream’s Let’s Get Ravey mix)’.

Most of Skream’s output has taken the form of singles (his Skreamizm series of EPs for Tempa are semi-legendary), but this marks the second official album for a man who apparently has 872 finished songs from 2007-2010 on his hard drive, and over 20,000 song files in his old bedroom at his parents house. As well as Murs and La Roux, it features Autonomic’s dBridge & Instra:mental on ‘Reflections’ and vocalist Sam Frank on ‘Where You Should Be.’

2010 will also see an album for Magnetic Man, Skream’s live collaboration with Benga and Artwork, a new Skreamizm EP, and a bonus edition of Outside the Box, featuring “another four or five tracks.”

No “I Give You Everything”, no credibility

  • drumsquad

people who use the “no _____, no credibility” phrase are the worst. get some originality you prick.

  • JL

    Ok, here is some originality:

No”The best track that one goddamned talented musician has ever produced”, no credible influence regarding the purchase of the album.

Which i will do anyway, just making a point on my disappointment

Oh by the way drumsquad, go metalick your wobbling verbosity up some one ..rse

'Give You Everything' is amazing – hopefully it's on the bonus edition, or the next Skreamizm.

Perferated hole in my vynil player where a
8 Bit Baby (feat. Murs) smashed my
CPU and that has shown me
Where You Should Be (feat. Sam Frank) which is listening to Skream
How Real (feat. Freckles) is this record that brings such strong
    Fields of Emotion
I Love The Way that i used
Listenin’ To The Records On My Wall but that
    Wibbler suffered such a
    Metamorphosis that
Finally (feat. La Roux) it has given me the
    Reflections from
A Song For Lenny that great classic,
    The Epic Last Song

    Moderate this:)
