Dubstep pioneer Skream will release his second album, Outside the Box, through Tempa on July 26.
With long-time dubplate âListening to the Records on my Wallâ as the lead single, Outside the Box features indie rap favourite Murs (on â8-bit Babyâ) and La Roux, who Skream famously tackled on the crossover hit âIn for the Kill (Skreamâs Letâs Get Ravey mix)â.
Most of Skreamâs output has taken the form of singles (his Skreamizm series of EPs for Tempa are semi-legendary), but this marks the second official album for a man who apparently has 872 finished songs from 2007-2010 on his hard drive, and over 20,000 song files in his old bedroom at his parents house. As well as Murs and La Roux, it features Autonomicâs dBridge & Instra:mental on âReflectionsâ and vocalist Sam Frank on âWhere You Should Be.â
2010 will also see an album for Magnetic Man, Skreamâs live collaboration with Benga and Artwork, a new Skreamizm EP, and a bonus edition of Outside the Box, featuring âanother four or five tracks.â
