12 minutes of spine-tingling music by Zomby was used to soundtrack a show put on by clothing brand C.E. (CAVEMPT) at this year’s Tokyo Fashion Week .

Zomby has become a regular collaborator with C.E., both modelling their designs and contributing music to a recent video on their website. This new show, documented in the below video by i-D, captures Zomby at his chilling best, with frostbitten melodies, snapping hi-hats and the scariest baby cry this side of Silent Hill all present. The live soundtrack was played by Trilogy Tapes’ label boss Will Bankhead (who has previously photographed Zomby for 4AD and designed his merchandise), but the music sounds like it’s all Zomby’s.

An “anonymous voice of the label” described the show to i-D as “our first show – the final show of Tokyo Fashion Week and a part of the Versus event curated by our friend Yuichi Yoshii. It was not a natural step for C.E to become involved in Tokyo Fashion Week and we could only work out how to do it by agreeing that we didn’t have to attempt to do a fashion show. In the event, what we did wasn’t really so different to a traditional fashion show. But, we would rather not present an ideal image of how our clothes are supposed to look based on the fit and face of live models. So we made and projected a kind of commercial as a way to explain ourselves to the wide range of people we hoped would be curious enough to come and take a look. So, we used edits of our past couple of cookbook videos and new footage of the C.E AW 2013 collection. We had no idea if we would want to ever repeat this process or if we would be given another opportunity to do so – so we thought we should put everything in there.”
