The new signings to Dominick Fernow’s Hospital Productions imprint launch their first video.

Culled from their forthcoming EP Vengeance Candle, ‘Nature’s Confusion’ is a grinding, bone tingling example of the Clay Rendering sound, with Mike Connelly’s pained, distorted vocals and guitar set to wife Tara Connelly’s echoing percussion. Mike Connelly might be best known for his tenure as the frontman of legendary noise troupe Hair Police, or his tenure as a member of Wolf Eyes, but Clay Rendering reframes his noisier interests without losing the inherent creeping dread.

‘Nature’s Confusion’ owes as much to industrial music as it does noise, and sounding like a skeletal re-imagining of Land of Rape and Honey-era Ministry has plenty to offer the more adventurous listeners out there. This is low-light music, and the moody black-and-white visuals of the promo video do plenty to affirm the duo’s air of ambiguous mystery.

Vengeance Candle is out now on digital via Hospital Productions.
